Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

Karen Henry, the yearbook adviser at Walsworth Yearbooks school Haas Hall Academy in Fayetteville, Arkansas, received the 2016 Adviser of the Year award this week from the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association (ASPA).

Henry, who has been the adviser of the school’s award-winning yearbook and newspaper since 2010, was honored at the ASPA’s annual state convention in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Haas Hall’s publications have a history of success in state competitions. This year, the school’s newspaper was inducted into the ASPA Hall of Fame after being named All-Arkansas four years in a row.

Prior to coming to Haas Hall in 2010, Henry was a professional journalist for more than a decade.
