Our Story
A family-owned yearbook company
At Walsworth, we’re more than just a printing company; we’re a family-owned business built on a tradition of excellence. Our story began in 1937 with the simple dream of preserving memories.
Headquartered in Marceline, Missouri, a town in north-central Missouri commonly known as the boyhood home of Walt Disney, Don Walsworth started the company printing playbills with a borrowed typewriter and a mimeograph. Today, Walsworth is still family-owned and now in the fourth generation of family leadership. We are among the top three yearbook printers and the only family-owned printer of yearbooks, as well as one of the 30 largest printing companies in the U.S. and Canada according to Printing Impressions Magazine.
For generations, our purpose has remained consistent: to support advisers and students as they capture the stories of their school communities with accuracy, creativity and pride.
Built for schools – not shareholders
Walsworth has never been bought or sold. Our independence allows us to make decisions based on what is best for schools, not shareholders or short-term priorities. We’re transparent, fair and consistent in our pricing with no surprises, because we think generationally, not quarterly.
Walsworth chooses to keep our production facilities and print and bind our yearbooks across multiple locations in the United States, supporting American jobs and communities. With multiple print locations, we have the capacity, reliability and redundancy to serve all customers. We partner with thousands of schools nationwide, delivering consistent, reliable service and high-quality results.
Yearbooks are our priority
While Walsworth also operates a commercial printing division, our yearbook team is dedicated exclusively to yearbook programs. We do not operate a scholastic division that promotes rings, graduation items or merchandise alongside yearbooks.
For schools, that means:
- No competing priorities
- Teams trained in journalism and yearbook workflows
- Yearbook resources designed specifically for yearbook advisers and students
Walsworth provides adviser support built on real relationships and a shared belief in strong journalism and creative storytelling. Schools work with yearbook experts who understand the rhythm of the classroom, journalism standards, staff organization and the creative demands of yearbook production. Our relationships and adviser-first focus make Walsworth the most trusted name in yearbooks.
Your support is 100% based in the U.S. and includes:
- A dedicated local sales representative and assigned customer service representative
- Live technical support from real people
- Classroom-ready curriculum and practical marketing tools
- Professional artists available for your design needs
- Training led by experienced advisers and journalism educators
Our goal is not just to produce a book but to help students grow as storytellers, leaders and collaborators.
