Five Walsworth yearbooks win 2009 Pacemakers

Kansas City, Mo. (April 19, 2010) – Five yearbooks published by Walsworth were chosen winners of 2009 Yearbook Pacemaker awards from the National Scholastic Press Association over the weekend at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Portland.
The 2009 Pacemaker winners published by Walsworth included Decamhian from Del Campo High School, Fair Oaks, Calif.; Wings from Arrowhead Christian Academy, Redlands, Calif.; Indian from Shawnee Mission North High School, Overland Park, Kan.; Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East High School, Prairie Village, Kan.; and Lair from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, Kan. Pride, from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas, was honored as a Pacemaker Finalist.
Each year, the NSPA’s Pacemaker is one of scholastic journalism’s highest national honors. This year’s contest drew a record number of 425 entries.
