Walsworth yearbooks dominate the top honors in 2009 Yearbook Excellence Contest

Kansas City, Mo. (Jan. 25, 2010) – Students from Walsworth yearbooks brought home 14 of the 24 first-place Sweepstakes prizes in the 2009 Yearbook Excellence Contest, sponsored by Quill & Scroll.

Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands, Calif., and Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kan., both won four Sweepstakes awards. For Arrowhead Christian in the Class B category, Chloe Sheppard took first in Clubs/Organizations and People, Kalie Stier won for Student Life and Joanna Sowell won for Index. For Shawnee Mission East in the Class A category, Jordan Dietrich placed first in Academics, Rachel English in Feature Photo, Gaby Thompson in Index and Whitaker Sherk in Student Life.

Three students from Manchester High School in North Manchester, Ind., were Sweepstakes winners in Class B, including Shelby Minnix for Advertising, Aaron Olinger for Sports Photo and Jack Messer for Theme.

Other Sweepstakes winners from Walsworth yearbooks included Brianna Barnes from El Dorado High School in El Paso, Texas, for Class A Advertising, Emily Diemer from Zeeland East High School in Zeeland, Mich., for Class A Clubs/Organizations and Kevin Moore from Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kan., for Class A Theme.

Along with the 24 Sweepstakes prizes, there were 193 total prizes awarded to students in 15 states. All winners receive the National Gold Key award from Quill & Scroll.
