Four Walsworth yearbooks named 2010 NSPA Pacemaker winners

Kansas City, Mo. (April 18, 2011) – Four yearbooks published by Walsworth were chosen winners of 2010 Yearbook Pacemaker awards from the National Scholastic Press Association over the weekend at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Anaheim.

The 2010 Pacemaker winners published by Walsworth included Wings from Arrowhead Christian Academy, Redlands, Calif.; Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East High School, Prairie Village, Kan.; Lair from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, Kan.; and The Spectator from Liberty High School in Liberty, Mo.

For Arrowhead Christian Academy and Shawnee Mission Northwest, the 2010 award was the 15th Pacemaker honor for each school.

Seven additional yearbooks published by Walsworth were previously honored as Pacemaker Finalists, including Decamhian from Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, Calif.; Gladiator from Troy High School in Troy, Mich.; Tucsonian from Tucson High Magnet School in Tucson, Ariz.; Fusion from Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Fla.; Falcon from Glendale High School in Springfield, Mo.; Legend from William R. Boone High School in Orlando, Fla.; and Pride from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas.

Each year, the NSPA’s Pacemaker is one of scholastic journalism’s highest national honors. The full list of 2010 Yearbook Pacemaker winners are below:
