Dow Jones names online adviser its Journalism Teacher of the Year

The Dow Jones Newspaper Fund announced that Paul Kandell of Palo Alto High School in Palo Alto, Calif., has been named its 2009 High School Journalism Teacher of the Year.
Kandell, who has been an adviser for more than 13 years, is currently the adviser of the Paly Voice student website and Verde, a 72-page newsmagazine.
Four advisers were named Distinguished Advisers by Dow Jones, including one from a Walsworth yearbook school – Christina Geabhart of Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Mo.
