12 Walsworth schools place in Best of Show contest at JEA/NSPA

Kansas City, Mo. (April, 18, 2011) – Yearbooks from 12 Walsworth schools placed in the Best of Show contest this past weekend at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Anaheim.

Decamhian from Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, Calif., placed first in the Yearbook 275-324 Pages category, while Lair from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kan., placed first in the Yearbook 325+ Pages category.

Additional Walsworth yearbooks to fare well included Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kan., which placed second in 325+ Pages; Wings from Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands, Calif., which placed fourth in the Yearbook 225-274 Pages category; and Hoofbeats from Burges High School in El Paso, Texas, which placed fourth in the Yearbook 224 or Fewer Pages category.

Other Walsworth yearbooks that placed in the Best of Show included: Pinnacle from Carmel High School in Carmel, Ind. (7th – 325+); Reflections from Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, Kan. (9th – 325+); Cambia from Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Mo. (7th – 225-274); Tenas Coma from Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, Wash. (8th – 225-274); Parousia from Maranatha Christian Schools in San Diego, Calif. (7th – 224 or Fewer); Our Medium from Encore Jr./Sr. High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in Hesperia, Calif. (9th – 224 or Fewer); and Talon from Andress High School in El Paso, Texas (10th – 224 or Fewer).
