President’s Collection

Editors of the 2018 Aerie began planning and selecting their theme, “As One,” in April 2017, nearly a full year before tragic events impacted the school on Valentine’s Day 2018. While the community’s response to the tragedy poignantly proved the book’s theme correct, the 2018 Aerie did an outstanding job of covering the entire year at Stoneman Douglas. Three versions of the cover were created - with green, purple and red lettering. While plenty of serious topics were covered, the book doesn’t overwhelm. The white backgrounds and muted color palette help the reader ease through the story of an unforgettable year.
