From Here to There. Featuring the same line-art map introduced on the endsheets, this spread is an excellent example of how to weave thematic elements throughout the book. The use of location to visualize students’ journeys throughout the day complements the theme while providing a meaningful way to connect students across the K-12 school. The spread also includes several nods to the theme’s visual identity. The rounded pastel area rugs echo the filled counters of the “e” and “o” on the cover, while the drop shadows mimic the shadows cast by students walking from place to place. These thoughtful details create continuity and reinforce the idea that every student, regardless of age, is part of the same journey.
