Caught Our Eye

Designed to Shine. Yearbook designers are often cautioned against using a posed photo as the dominant image on a spread. This design, however, proves that under the right circumstances, the rules are worth breaking. The strategic placement of the students, combined with the story, headline and modules, creates a frame drawing the viewer’s eye to the “night sky” painted on the ceiling. Additional design choices such as the black background and faded edges of the dominant photo enhance this effect. This, combined with the reverse type and vibrant accent colors, results in a page that feels both intentional and visually striking.
