Sugar, spice and everything nice. A fun trend seen in several books was the documenting of senior girls bypassing designer backpacks for PowerPuff Girls, Disney characters, Hello Kitty, Dora the Explorer and other childhood favorites. The staff at Mt. Juliet used the trend as a part of their “First Day of Senior Year” coverage. The sentimental page was photo and quote heavy as it featured friend groups and allowed them to reminisce about carrying the cartoon backpacks in grade school as they headed into a memory-laden senior year with old friends.
