Caught Our Eye

Left no crumbs. Students across the country were clearly obsessed with these high calorie treats (most averaged 720 calories; McDonald’s Big Mac had 590). Books across the country had sidebars noting each grade’s favorite or placed them on pages with several other trends, but the staff at Oswego East went all in with a two-page spread. The spread’s dominant element displayed photos of the best-flavored cookies along with a statistic-heavy sidebar outlining student favorites. The .5 photo on the left of the student eating a Crumbl cookie had a tight text wrap, making readers feel like they were sharing the cookie with him while reading the three-column story. Articulating unique trends in student tastes created a sense of nostalgia for students once high school is behind them. Pass the milk.
