Caught Our Eye

Triple threat journalist. Advisers tell their yearbook staffs they have to be able to do it all to tell the complete story. This spread does that with great photography, writing and design. The jaw-dropping dedication it took to get the spread-filling dominant sets the tone:

1. The photographer had to show up to a practice.
2. They had to get in the water themselves (even if they used a GoPro).
3. It was raining!

The rest of the spread shows equal dedication with insights only discovered through lengthy interviewing and attention to detail for both swimmers and divers. The photo package and sidebar read as if professional swimming commentator, Rowdy Gaines, spoke to the athletes.
