“We add filters to pictures, changing and distorting them, adding fun stickers and shapes.” The students at Woodland Junior High are typical for 2017, but the yearbook staff used the theme “Unfiltered” to pull back the layers and show who students truly were. This traditional yearbook emphasized the “un” with their section names, for example: it was an UNFORGETTABLE year (student life); the UNSTOPPABLE cowboys and cowgirls (sports); separate halls, but an UNDIVIDED school (academics). The staff did their legwork, evidenced by the number of quotes in the book, including the fun folio quotes that answered the question, “What advice would you give your kindergarten self.”
