The year and the book’s name are discreetly debossed in the upper third of the brilliant white matte lamination cover, while the verbal theme is debossed and boldly stated in black in the lower third. An embossed, teal square serves as a period following the “this is what” statement and connects visually to the purple, yellow, red and black squares that anchor the back cover. Wah’ Kon-Tah 2014 also uses a purple, teal, yellow and red square to separate essential information on the spine. A large black and white picture dominates the opening spread where we learn the “what” behind the Wah’ Kon-Tah’s theme. Each section divider features a signature color that corresponds with the colors introduced on the cover.
