The Aftermath looks at the 2014 school year three ways: the things students can do, the things they did do, and all the candid moments in between. The first two sentences of the opening copy capture the positive attitude of this book: “We as a student body can accomplish so many things. What did you do?” From there, the book shows what students did, using large color photos and graphics that dominate on white backgrounds. This book has an interactive feel to it. Most spreads have questions to the readers that would evoke a memory, such as quizzes, matching games and questions on the spread topic: “Did you give a pint of blood to save three lives?” with the story on blood drive. In addition to the photos, the visual appeal of the book comes from its theme colors of red, teal, yellow and green, used in circles, slash-style lines and strips for text.
