Something a certain pandemic shall we say, left everything a bit off...But just like any great story, it started with a hook...the truth is, it all begins with an outline. A foundation. Shakespeare never had to deal with hotspots, did he? But despite the setbacks, we kept the vision...our high school experience is full of stories..."

We lost our friends when half the school showed up to Homecoming, but our dance circle still went hard. Yet, when Sam Sam and Marina Loera took the floor, time seemed to stop. We just need to take a breath and look back at what we had. What we did, where we were. Get ready to run it back."

"It's understood that we just get it. We shared experiences that shaped who we are today. We remember growing up and seeing friends get frustrated when they couldn't master that one Wii sports game. Being nine-years-old trying to figure out what 8/7 central meant trying to catch the newest release of the Descendants movie series on Disney Channel. Balancing our iPad chargers in just the right position to get it to charge. And we were devastated when we learned that our parents' names weren't actually "Mom" and "Dad". We get the picture. We're the "lazy" school, the "bad at sports" school, the "old" school, but dig deeper. Our Noche De Baile, an event hosted by SM North's International Club took place on March 8. Our BPA team took first place at state and went to Anaheim, Calif. for Nationals on April 26-30. We hosted our North Relays on May 5, an annual event put on by SM North for 74 years. But it's not about what they see, it's about what we know. We are North." - Theme: "Standing Out"

"Faculty. Academics. Students. Culture. Some may say this is what sets Millard West apart, but what truly sets Millard West apart is so much more. A year of changes and many firsts set the stage for a year to be remembered, a year that would stand out from the rest. Behind the closed doors, with the 2,260 students sitting in their chairs, there is one thing that stays constant through it all, we stand out." - Adviser: Yaryzza Lira

"Wait, something's different here...there's a lion in a glass case at the front of the building? People are shaking mannequin heads on sticks? Students spent 24 hours at the school beating an oil drum before a football game? Yeah, it's just how we do it at McKinney High. We touched the lion at the front of the school before travelling to state competitions. Headhunters led our student section at pep rallies and games. We're the original. We do it different." - Adviser: Monica Rodriguez

"This right here is not your typical high school yearbook. It's not just a collection of pictures and names that are laid out along countless pages. This is our story. It's all right here. Moments matter most. From the big ones like the boys varsity soccer team bringing home the gold from states. To small ones like bringing floaties during Sprit Weeks. We wrote the story of our year." - Theme: "Who Knew?"

Walsworth representative: Veronika Levine - CJEIn their own words:
"We know that high school isn't really what the movies show. Prom. Homecoming. Football games.
But let's be real, what truly mattered were all of the little moments of unexpected significance. Who knew that moment you saw pinnacle turn bright green after bustin your butt all quarter would mean so much.
Or when you realized you culd have done the extra credit to bring your grade up to an A. When you're crying to your teachder so she'll bump you from an 89 to a 90.
Who knew that the year would go by as fast as it did? Or that we'd actually want time to slow down?
Did you know that we accomplished more this year than we ever could have imagined? And that we have established a legacy for years to come?" - Theme: "We Are Everything You See"

Days you'll remember, like Aug. 1, when you had full band practice outside in the 100-degree heat, or Aug. 22, when Mansfield ISD shut down all technology because of a cyber attack.

"Let's be real. We've realized that getting a grade isn't the only reason we come to school anymore.
When we saw our friend had the same class as us, we knew algebra wasn't going to be that bad. We completed our required community service hours. We felt confused when we actually enjoyed our required reading English class.
We went to pep rallies and yelled, and the juniors won the spirit stick for being the loudest. Some of us were frustrated that admin squashed our attempts to mentally intimidate our opponents every. single. game.
But let's be real... we made the most of our 8 unexcused absences, made the grade (or not) and made the best of our 180 days at HBHS." - Theme: ""

"Above all else, Oviedo is a community. Orange and black. Blood rushes through our veins and screams O-Town. It is tradition to stand crammed side-by-side at pep rallies, booing the freshmen, really whenever and wherever they can, we stand tall, but do you expect any different? Everyone else knows Oviedo. We live in their heads, rent-free. We boast our name, with our loud roars and burning tradition. We are renowned, a cut above the rest. We hear about our sports, our academics, our events, and our spirit. Spirit so loud, we broke our brand new tables. We are district champs for football, swimming, volleyball - and that's just in the fall. Our reputation is known, and we rise above it. We are above all else. We will still be be Oviedo in 100 more years. We have stood the test of time, and we will remain. Who knows what is to come? No one can truly tell what the future will hold, but one thing stays for certain. We will be Oviedo. As the class of 2023 graduates, they will carry on Oviedo's torch and shine their light anywhere else they go. "Cheers to 100 years" has been our motto, from August to May. So, here's to OHS. "Here, bumper to bumper traffic on Stockdick School Road may bore you before class has even begun. Joining the swarm of students outside the doors at 6:44am, you wait anxiously to get inside, away from the humidity that works its way through your picture-perfect curls to just wipe away the hours worth of work you put in to get it just right.... It's here that these stories will be told. It's here they will be laid out to be in bold. Here, the crowded classes overflow into cramped halls as the final bell rings and students rush to get home. Exhausted students push past one another to make it to their final destination. Taking the bus, their car, or using the sidewalks to get home. The blackbox is filled with stage props and costumes as Ian and others run to their rehearsals for attention. He is the one of the students who calls home here." - Theme: "You Wish!"

"After what felt like an endless summer, August 18 came quickly, and students and teachers looked out at a renewed campus.
We searched for our friends in the halls, we marveled at the ever-growing new building, and we met our new teachers.
There was so much to be excited about - like the opening of the new Center for Student Life on Oct. 8, a new season of sports, homecoming week, Halloween, the World Cup and more.
Look at us - we are proud. We were not only acheiving our goals, but finding ourselves in the process." - Theme: "For Real"

We weren't even allowed in the library for months. Every time we wanted to use the restrooom we had to wander the halls looking for one that was open. And the cafeteria lines felt endless!
It seemed like everything was pulling our attention: BeReals, the World Cup, and the crowds on the Quad. Even with all of this, we tried to make the most of what we got.

"My sneakers dig into the dry, crunchy grass of the field, as I run to my waiting team to practice our chant of the season.
I lift my hands into the air, lightly leaning against the other soccer players with my shoulders, reaching inside the middle of the circle. 'Jaguars on three.'
Palms touch backs of hands. We bounce our arms in time to the chant; not perfectly synchronized, not needing to be. 'One, two, three.'
I look around the circle, my eyes meet other eyes, every player smiles. 'Go Jagz!' Our hands lift into the air.

"There is no exit button. This time, there are no excuses.
For the first time, in a very long time, we're back to normal, but it's better than normal. We finally get to experience everything we've missed.
That fall social? Totally got the costume ready! That field trip? Mom, sign here please, and pack a lunch. It's time to take it to the next level. So take that risk! We can finally ask out that person we've been simpuing over for who knows how long. Try out for that team! Learn that instrument!
But...what if you fail? What if you play the wrong note during the big concert, or miss your cue during the play?
What if you fall in front of everyone and drop your stuff everywhere? What if your crush rejects you? What if you bomb the test you've been studying for?
Maybe you fail. Or maybe you win." - Theme: "Best One Yet"

"All the ones before. It was not the best of circumstances for the graduating class of 2023. We began as normal freshman but spring brought unprecedented changes.
The disruptions made our class a better one. We learned to adjust. We learned independence. We learned to prioritize what really matters in life.
We struggled with many things on top of typical teenage troubles. Masks, hybrid and birtual just to name a few. Yet, we pressed on.
The world will soon know the ways we overcame and lessons we learned.

"Normality has returned. Pep Rallies, Talon Tailgating, homecoming, the senior run — all the events that haven't been able to happen over the past few years — are back.
We dove in head first, hoping for the best. The mounds of homework to keep up with Tlumack's AP Lang reading and Spicer's APUSH notes, burnout from performing in both fall and spring plays, the struggle to find some time to relax between classes, to attend club meetings, and practices every day after school on new fields are what seems to take up all of our time.
Ready for the fun to begin, we experiment with the new hour-long lunch and all the labs that we weren't able to do for years because of the fear of getting each other sick. Connections were made as we collaborated on classwork.
These are the little moments that make you want to leave summer behind for just a second, and go back to your favorite classroom, laughing with your friends and making inside jokes with your favorite teachers.

"It's 7:35, the drop off line is packed. Cars swerve around cones and concrete barriers while students dodge oncoming traffic. Are you serious?! Students scramble to grab ID's from backpacks, spilling notebooks and pencils while Mr. Kirby smiles and waits patiently. Do I even have it? And then it hits us — this is life every day for the next year. We have to think... is this really happening? Everything we thought was chaotic this year becomes overshadowed by the never ending mayhem of the Bald 4 Bucks assembly. Look at all these baldies! Just ask any other generation, and they don't know what it's like to have club meetings over Zoom. Or constantly refresh their Instagram feed watching the like count slowly tick up after a post. And no one else, recently has gone to school during a pandemic.
We still scream until our voices are hoarse when football wins a game. We still stress over that C on our geometry test. And we all know what it's like to question who we are.
