The yearbook staff from the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, got inventive with their video submission for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest.
They created a black and white, silent movie called “Pantera Yearbook Time” that promotes what’s new about the book this year.
The students and staff at River Ridge Middle School in New Port Richey, Fla., created a series of yearbook videos that parody the Allstate Insurance “Mayhem” commercials and submitted them for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest.
According to the staff, they “had so much fun making them, and they were a huge hit at our school.” In all, there are four River Ridge videos – Classroom Mayhem, Texting Mayhem, GPS Mayhem and Toddler Mayhem.
The yearbook staff from Tarpon Springs High School in Tarpon Springs, Fla., seems to have created their video for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest when they were in a very scary, Halloween mood.
At least that seems to be the vibe here, with the horror movie style music and the warning to “Buy your yearbook before lost memories haunt you.”
Stanwood Middle School in Stanwood, Wash., is using the theme “Hello, My Name Is…” for this year’s book, with the goal of recognizing all their students.
That’s why the staff stuck with that theme when creating their entry for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest – a montage of images from their school mixed with yearbook theme graphics.
For their entry in Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest, the yearbook staff from Kountze High School in Kountze, Texas, created a parody of the popular “What happens when…” commercials from DIRECTV.
Kountze shows you what happens when you don’t buy a yearbook, and the results aren’t pretty.
In its entry for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest, Norris High School from Firth, Neb., boldly calls itself “pretty much the most talented high school in history…”
Then they might just back it up with the reel of “talents” that the yearbook staff and other students proceed to show off in the video that follows.
The yearbook staff from Argo Community High School in Summit, Ill., decided to use the effective tactic of creating a montage of school events they’ve covered for their video submission to Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest, “Argolite.”
The video matches up with the theme for this year’s Argo book, which is “Students Today, Heroes Tomorrow.”
The yearbook kids from West Nodaway High School in Burlington Junction, Mo., take their shot at explaining why you need to buy the yearbook with their entry in Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest “Yearbook: The Musical!”
As the staff describes it, the video is “filled with original catchy songs that will leave you humming for days.”
The Hunger Games, based on a popular 2008 novel, has been one of the biggest movie hits of the year. That’s why the yearbook staff at Americas High School in El Paso, Texas, used it as inspiration to create their video for Walsworth’s 2012 Video Contest.
The students “battling” in the video are all after the same prize – the Americas yearbook.
