Stillwater Christian yearbook staff offers holiday coupons

Just about everybody is familiar with “Black Friday” and all the shopping deals that take place on the day after Thanksgiving.

Thinking along the same lines, the yearbook staff at Stillwater Christian School in Kalispell, Mont., recently held a “Blue Tuesday” yearbook sale.

“Blue is our school color and it rhymes with Tuesday, so it just had a good ring to it,” said Stillwater Christian yearbook adviser Becky Neumann.

The staff sent home coupons promoting their one-day sale, which offered a $10 discount on the price of the yearbook. They also advertised “Blue Tuesday” in the school newsletter two weeks in advance, put up posters and fliers all over school and promoted the event on their Facebook page.

According to Neumann, there’s a consumer “feeding frenzy” around the holidays, particularly around one-day sales.

“It got a lot of people excited over the yearbook, because people get excited over saving money,” said Neumann. “It was great PR all the way around.”
