Newest Photo Spotlight shows off the band at sunset

Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

In our first Photo Spotlight of the new school year, we take a look at how one yearbook photographer used the natural environment around her to create an amazing yearbook memory.

Take a look at the band photo above by Emily White from John Glenn High School in Walkerton, Indiana. What a gorgeous sunset!

The drum major stands out against the vibrant sky, standing at attention before the band. The dark tree line and people below contrast sharply against the orange and purple of the sky.

This photo follows the rule of thirds, both horizontally and vertically. The clouds in the sky create leading lines toward the drum major.
