Another amazing day at JEA Portland

Written by Alex Uribe

We got up at around 8  a.m. and went down to get some breakfast at the hotel. I usually never eat breakfast, and I have to say that this hotel’s breakfast was really good! Right after breakfast, we went back downstairs and got on a bus for a four-hour tour with Martin’s Gorge Tours.

It was a pretty long drive, but it was totally worth it. We stopped at Chanticleer Point and got to see the most amazing view. It’s pretty spectacular, we don’t have anything like that at home.

Oh man our next stop was exciting for me – we went to The View Point Inn. It’s where they shot the prom scene of the movie Twilight. There was all these cool bricks on the floor with the character’s name, and they left the Monte-Carlo sign there that was in the movie.

The tour kept getting better from there. Martin took us to this little path, and we climbed for a while, but once we got to the top, the waterfall we saw was completely overwhelming. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in my life. We got so close to it that you could feel the mist from the splash. Our photographers got so many amazing pictures, and I got some pretty nice ones too.

After that we went to see an even bigger waterfall. It literally left me breathless. It’s hard to even describe. Being able to get that close was unbelievable. The last place we went to was a fish hatchery, and saw the biggest fish ever. His name was Herman the Sturgeon. I swear he looked like a dinosaur.

It was an amazing tour, but it wore us out. Almost everyone fell asleep on the bus on the way back to our hotel. THANKS MARTIN!!!!!!
