October 3, 2022 / National Yearbook Week

NYW Week is Here!

Written by Alec Aguirre

National Yearbook Week is finally here! We’re excited to show our appreciation for the hard work you all have shown so far this school year. It’s time to reflect on the outstanding coverage and spreads you have created while we celebrate with you during Oct. 3-7!

If you’re new to yearbook, you may be wondering what National Yearbook Week is and how it started. The back story began in 1987 when President Ronald Reagan declared the week of Oct. 4 as the one and only, National Yearbook Week. This is the time to show your pride and share what yearbook means to you and your staff.

This year we are doing something new to celebrate your staff and will provide shoutouts throughout the week. Show us how you are celebrating National Yearbook Week by participating in our Social Media Scavenger Hunt using #WalsworthPhotoHunt throughout the week of Oct. 3-7! Look for our five daily Instagram stories for instructions on how to participate each day. The grand prize this year is the biggest we’ve ever had so you won’t want to miss out!

CONTEST RULES AND DETAILS:

  • To be eligible to win, participating schools must use #WalsworthPhotoHunt and caption each post with the task they are completing so their progress and completion can be tracked during the scavenger hunt!
  • Participating schools must post from their school yearbook account. We highly encourage using Instagram to post your entries for easiest tracking and scoring.
  • Contestants are limited to posting from one social media account per school and can enter up to five photos per day.
  • The contest runs from Monday, Oct. 3, through Friday, Oct. 7.

The prizes for our top participants are as follows:
1st place: $500 Visa gift card
2nd place: $350 Visa gift card
3rd place: $150 Visa gift card

Winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges and selected based on completion, creativity, humor, appropriateness and collaboration. Winning schools will be notified the week of Oct. 10. Happy hunting!

The contest is open to all schools across the U.S. and Canada. Employees of Walsworth and their immediate families (spouse/domestic partner and any children living with the employee) are not eligible to participate. Entries will not be judged unless #WalsworthPhotoHunt and the task being completed are included in each post caption.
