Walsworth announces September winners in Promotion Commotion contest

Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 15, 2010) – The first four monthly prize winners in Walsworth Publishing’s new Promotion Commotion marketing contest to promote sales have been drawn.
The Promotion Commotion contest encourages yearbook staffs to implement a variety of proven marketing tactics that will help them sell more books, ads and yearbook options by giving them a chance to win prizes in monthly drawings, simply for using those tactics.
Here are the four winners for September and the marketing tactics they used:
1st prize – Nikon Digital SLR Camera
- Covenant Day School, Matthews, N.C. – Placed a banner ad on school website, selected a student marketer for staff, created a Facebook page for yearbook, set up a kiosk/sales table, used email marketing
2nd prize – Ultra™ HD FlipCam Camcorder
- Gulf Coast High School, Naples, Fla. – Set up a kiosk/sales table, used customized marketing,
created a promotional yearbook video, used email marketing
3rd prize – $75 spending spree at Target
- Salem High School, Salem, N.H. – Placed a banner ad on school website, selected a student marketer for staff, created a Facebook page for yearbook, set up a kiosk/sales table, used customized marketing, created a promotional yearbook video
4th prize – Pizza party
- Jefferson High School, Monroe, Mich. – Placed a banner ad on school website, selected a student marketer for staff, created a Facebook page for yearbook, completed a telephone all-call for yearbook, used customized marketing, set up a kiosk/sales table
Monthly prize drawings will continue through April and each school that enters Promotion Commotion also becomes eligible for the Grand Prize. The school that shows the biggest increase in yearbook sales from last year will win $500 for the school’s yearbook program, and that staff’s student marketer will win a $500 scholarship.
