My yearbook story started back when I was 16. I remember walking into room C116, third block yearbook, bright eyed and excited to help create something. I would come to learn yearbook really means something to not only my peers, but also the community.
Fast forward a few years and I'm still chasing the joy that being a yearbook staffer and editor gave me. Walsworth has given me the opportunity to not only do what I love, but also work with the most creative and wonderful students, advisers and administration. I have a passion for helping students create a book that will transcend well beyond the school year.
Planning your yearbook coverage is a whole new ball game this year. Previous years may have allowed you to take last year’s ladder and tweak it for the upcoming year, but some schools are completely reimagining their coverage approach.
That may sound scary, but it’s actually a great thing! There are so many stories to tell, and it’s your job to tell it well. In fact, some schools are deciding to increase their page count to make room for student profiles and do justice to the historic story of the 2020-2021 school year.
Hannah is bright, hard-working and willing to help in any situation. During the COVID-19 quarantine, Hannah assisted our regular rep who was out on maternity leave. She is an absolute delight to work with—always friendly, helpful and she works well with both students and adults. She emails customers about upcoming events, dates and deadlines and stays in the loop with both customers and the plant.
Hannah gives advisers as much freedom or as much assistance as they want. If the adviser wants a cheerleader, she’s that. If an adviser wants a teacher, she can to do that, too.
As a first-year yearbook adviser at a new high school, I just wanted to say how much I appreciated Hannah's hands-on approach in working with me and my students. My editors could really relate to her and she had such a calm, easy-going nature that it made us relax during our stressful deadlines! Her availability by phone, email or for in-person visits was amazing. When school was all of a sudden closed due to the pandemic, she was very thoughtful in helping with suggestions on how to complete our book remotely.
