Walsworth names Malcolm Aslin and Bruce Walker to Board

Marceline, Mo. (Sept. 28, 2009) – Walsworth Publishing Company, a leading publisher of scholastic yearbooks and world-class printer of specialty publications, announced the appointment of Malcolm “Mick” Aslin and Dr. Bruce Walker to the company’s Board of Directors.
“We are thrilled to be adding two experienced, talented professionals like Mick and Bruce to the Walsworth Board,” said Don O. Walsworth, CEO of Walsworth Publishing. “The insights and expertise that Mick and Bruce will bring to our board meetings will be a great asset to the company during an exciting time of growth.”
Aslin joins Walsworth with more than 35 years of experience in the banking, financial services and service industries. He previously was the CEO of Gold Banc Corporation, Gold Bank and the Gold Bank Mutual Funds. Aslin owned and managed CompuNet Engineering and Langley Optical Company. He began his career at United Missouri Bancshares, Inc., where he spent 22 years in various positions, including 12 as President, COO and director of United Missouri Bank. He also currently serves on the Boards of Directors for LabConco, Inc., and ACT Teleconferencing, Inc.
Aslin holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Walker has been dean and professor of marketing at the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia since 1990. Prior to that, he was on the faculty at Arizona State University for 16 years. He is the co-author of Marketing, a textbook used in many collegiate business schools around the world. He has been involved with several technology-based start-ups in various roles, including investor, consultant, and director. He is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Boone County National Bank and the Missouri Innovation Center-Columbia.
Walker holds a bachelor’s degree from Seattle University, as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration and a doctorate in Marketing from the University of Colorado.
