Walsworth launches Fan Page on Facebook

Written by Marketing Staff

Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 6, 2009) – Yearbook advisers and staffs will now be able to follow Walsworth and all things in the world of yearbook through the Walsworth Yearbooks Fan Page on Facebook, which was officially launched today.

“We’re very excited that this new social media presence from Walsworth is now available online,” said Alex Blackwell, Walsworth’s director of marketing. “We know how many schools are getting involved in Facebook, and we believe the Walsworth Yearbooks Fan Page will be a fun, interactive place for them to visit and keep track of all things yearbook.”

At the Walsworth Yearbooks Fan Page, users will be able to view examples of other yearbook staff Fan Pages from around the country, follow updates on what is going on at Walsworth and all over the yearbook industry and watch creative promotional videos from other yearbook staffs and Walsworth.

Already at launch, examples of videos on the Fan Page include a welcome from Walsworth President Don Walsworth introducing the Scholarship Sweepstakes and It’s Worth It contest, and a yearbook commercial that was produced by the yearbook staff at Kerr High School in Houston, Texas.

In addition, the Fan Page will be another location for Walsworth to offer marketing tips. Walsworth’s eBook “Marketing Your Yearbook in the Facebook Era,” outlines steps for how a school can get its Facebook presence up and running. It is already available for download on the Fan Page, and more marketing documents like it will be made available in the future.
