Villa Montemar wins FiberMark Specifier Award

Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

The 2013 Villa Montemar yearbook from Academy of Our Lady of Peace in San Diego, Calif., has been honored with a Specifier Award from FiberMark, Inc., for its creative use of the Skivertex material for its cover.

The Academy, a Walsworth Yearbooks customer, created a striking cover for the 2013 Villa Montemar, which showed an image of a butterfly behind a laser cut. Subtle images of three butterflies were also added to the cover using a clear silk screen.

Four different versions of the cover were created, using four different colors of the butterfly image and the printed hot foil text. The design was created by Walsworth Creative Services Designer Michelle North.

FiberMark is a maker of specialty fiber-based materials for all types of products such as books, binders, boxes, journals and folders.

Each year, FiberMark presents the Specifier Awards to recognize design excellence in products that use FiberMark materials.
