Use fliers in the school picture packet

Earlier this year, adviser Hal Keene and the yearbook staff from Saint Cloud High School in Saint Cloud, Fla., sent in one of their great marketing ideas – putting yearbook labels on the items in the school vending machines.

Here’s another good, simple idea courtesy of the Saint Cloud staff. Keene was the one responsible for distributing the school picture packets once they came back from the photographer, so the staff created a flier to stuff inside the picture packets.

The fliers have a picture of the Saint Cloud yearbook, with information on ways to make a yearbook deposit as a holiday gift, on one side, and a yearbook order form on the back. Keene said the fliers have already generated 10 new yearbook orders.

“This was a way to reach parents who I thought might actually want to buy a yearbook, since they spent money on buying the pictures,” said Keene.
