Written by Marketing Staff

Overland Park, Kan. (Sept. 25, 2014) – Six yearbook sales representatives from Walsworth Yearbooks have obtained the Certified Journalism Educator (CJE) designation from the Journalism Education Association (JEA).

JEA offers both Certified Journalism Educator and Master Journalism Education designations. The purpose of the designations is to promote professionalism in scholastic journalism. These sales representatives took the CJE exam in July.

Kane Belew, a sales rep in his native Alabama, has a background in sales and marketing, and partners with his schools to take their books to the next level and to help increase sales.

Michelle DiSimone has been a sales rep in the greater Los Angeles area for 22 years, and is co-founder of SoCal Yearbooks Workshop, one of the largest and most prestigious summer workshops in the country. DiSimone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a concentration in Photojournalism from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She was editor of her high school yearbook.

Carolyn Henderson, a former teacher and yearbook adviser, is a sales rep in the greater Charlotte, N.C., area. Since her passion is teaching, Henderson became a sale rep so she could reach more students and help teach advisers. Her Camp Carolina Summer Workshop enjoys a reputation as one of the top workshops on the East Coast.

Veronika Levine is a sales rep serving southeastern Florida where she grew up. She was editor of her high school yearbook and a section editor of the yearbook while attending Syracuse University in New York. She loves the yearbook process and working with people to help them through that process.

A former journalism adviser and coach, Ryan Rinaldi serves central Texas with his classroom experience, tech-savvy tips and motivating personality. Prior to working as the Walsworth Yearbooks sales rep in central Texas, Rinaldi spent several years in the Chicago area as a Walsworth Yearbooks sales rep.

Gina Simoneau is a graphic designer who works with her husband, Kevin, as a sales rep in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition to her design skills, her CJE designation shows customers that she has a great depth of knowledge about scholastic journalism.

These six sales representatives will receive certificates and pins from JEA, and are invited to the Advisers Luncheon at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 8.

Just a heads-up that our local sales rep, Shaunna Taylor, continues to be helpful, affirming, encouraging and enlightening. We at la Sierra Academy, Riverside CA truly appreciate her, and Kathy McCollum, our customer service rep, back in your Missouri offices.
