Jim Jordan to present at Fall CSPA

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) holds their 78th Annual Fall Conference on Monday, Nov. 6, in New York City, and Walsworth Special Consultant Jim Jordan will be there, speaking about important aspects of yearbook journalism.

Jordan will host two presentations about yearbook. The first, Design Quest 2018, teaches staffs how to find great ideas for their yearbooks. This morning session will stimulate the thinking and creativity of attendees. Jordan will share the secrets of professional designers to help high school yearbook staffs draw inspiration.

The second session, SOS – System of Success, will show attendees how to set up their own system of success. Beyond simply what to do and when to do it, Jordan will share his secrets to ensure the many tasks involved in yearbook are done well – Systems of Success for recruiting, finding inspiration, summer planning, ladder, getting better photos, staff organization, developing a coverage plan, caption writing, storytelling, quality control and keeping it fun.

Jordan has a wealth of experience producing national award-winning yearbooks. He spent 35 years as the yearbook adviser at Fair Oaks High School in Del Campo, California. Jordan is known for his high standards, thoroughness, enthusiasm and his collection of bowties.

Those who attend Jordan’s sessions will benefit from his knowledge and passion for creating the best yearbook a staff can make.
