Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

The next winner to be revealed in Walsworth’s 2013 Photo Contest is in the Academics category.

Congratulations to Nicole Murri from Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth, Texas, for her striking picture of a student conducting an experiment during a chemistry class.

As the photo’s description said, Nicole caught this great reaction as “students discover the flammability of methane gas bubbles during a chemistry lab.”

For her great work in capturing this shot, Nicole wins a $100 Visa gift card, as well as a pizza party for the Timber Creek staff.

The best photos were chosen by Walsworth and the number of Likes on Facebook.

Winners were selected by a committee of judges based on the following criteria: quality of photo (25%), appropriateness to category (10%), photography rules followed (25%), creativity demonstrated (15%) and viral nature as determined by the number of Likes (25%).
