Here’s how you can turn your yearbook distribution into a “Big Event”

Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

Students love signing yearbooks for their friends. It’s one of the aspects of a yearbook that makes it so memorable and so much fun to look back on years later.

Is your staff planning a yearbook signing party for your buyers? If the answer is no, that needs to change. Walsworth Yearbooks can help you promote a yearbook distribution/signing party that will be one of the big events of the year at your school.

By using Walsworth’s Big Event marketing materials, which can be found at walsworthyearbooks.com/bigevent, you can organize a campaign that grants all yearbook buyers exclusive access to a signing party.

Let’s take a closer look at the options.

Big Event materials

Walsworth’s Big Event materials are all about creating a buzz about the arrival of the yearbook. On the Big Event page, you have a number of options.

Customizable fliers and posters are available to promote the date, time and location of your signing party, as well as your book sales if it is still ongoing.

Tickets and backstage passes, also customizable with your own school, date and time information, are also available. These items add an “event” feeling to your signing party.  They also allow you to distribute cool printed pieces at the time of a sale, before the yearbook has been printed.

Walsworth can print the Big Event items, or send PDFs which you can print yourself.

Planning your event

Once you’ve ordered Big Event items, there is still a lot of planning that goes into a successful distribution day. Walsworth’s free eBook, Distribution Day: The Big Reveal, will help you figure out all the dos and don’ts.

Party planning ideas (music, food, drinks, prizes), all the equipment you will need for the big day, tips from yearbook advisers who have been through distribution day before – all of it and much more can be found in Distribution Day: The Big Reveal.

Don’t wait. Start planning and order your Big Event materials today. Good luck!
