Haltom staff shows off wide variety of trends coverage in latest Spotlight

Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

Every yearbook staff loves doing a fashion spread as part of its trends coverage within their student life pages. For some staffs, that fashion spread makes up the entirety of their trends coverage.

While that fashion spread is fun to create, think about it – there’s more to the trends of the year than just fashion. There’s all kinds of topics that impact the lives of your yearbook readers this year – music, movies, the shows they’re watching, the food they’re eating.

The staff of the 2017 Buffalo from Haltom High School in Haltom City, Texas, knew this, which is why they’re the subject of our latest Coverage Spotlight.

Take a look at the spread above from the 2017 Buffalo, which is all about nutritional choices and Haltom students practicing vegan and vegetarian lifestyles. Other spreads in Haltom’s 2017 yearbook focused on trendy topics like whether students preferred cars vs. trucks, or their favorite styles of music.

Think about all these different aspects of pop culture and how they impacted the year and your school.
