Come see Walsworth Yearbooks at JEA/NSPA in Chicago

Written by Evan Blackwell, CJE

The 2018 JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention comes to the Hyatt Regency in downtown Chicago this week and Walsworth Yearbooks will be in the Windy City and in the middle of the excitement.

Fun in the booth

The convention’s exhibit hall will be open on Thursday and Friday, and Walsworth Yearbooks will have a large presence as always.

Take a look at everything going on in our convention booth this week:

  • Hundreds of yearbooks to browse through for ideas and bean bag chairs to chill out and relax on
  • Two new eye-catching photo ops for yearbook staffs – a giant “YBK Life” backdrop and a stack of yearbooks window
  • Have fun picking from 15 different designs in our button making area; or take a quick break by playing one of our giant Jenga or Connect Four games
  • Walsworth’s Mike Taylor, CJE, and Jim Jordan will each have their own areas of the booth where they will be meeting with staffs and talking everything yearbook
  • Reps will be on hand to give a demo of Yearbook AR or answer any question on technology that you may have

Here’s the best part – whenever a yearbook staff or adviser comes to the booth and engages with any area, that advisers gets signed up to win one of two full-stocked mini fridges for their yearbook room.

The mini fridge drawing will take place in the booth at 2 p.m. on Friday. Winners don’t have to be present to win.

Live sessions

Several Walsworth speakers are on the educational agenda, which will take place Friday and Saturday.

Most noteworthy will be on Friday morning when Jordan will record a live episode of the Yearbook Chat with Jim podcast on the floor of the exhibit hall.

You can see a full schedule of Walsworth speakers at this week’s convention here.
