In response to the tragic terrorist attacks on the United States, many schools and organizations are seeking current events photo packages for their yearbooks and publications.
Below are the top news sources offering current events photos and photo packages, with special pricing available for schools.
For more information on specific packages and cost, visit the Members Only section.
The Associated Press/Wide World Photos (AP)
The Associated Press offers three CD-ROM current events photo packages. The AP is not offering a separate photo package for the events that occurred on and after Sept. 11, but photos and coverage of those events will be included in the regular photo packages. Photos are only available via CD-ROM. To view actual photos, order or obtain further information, visit www.ap.org/yearbook/ or call (212) 621-1941.
The United Press International (UPI)
UPI focuses on customizing photos and photo packages to the staff’s individual needs. Customers may choose a set photo package on CD-ROM, or an annual photo contract which allows the customer to contract for a set number of photos per month (as events happen). United Press International is currently considering providing a special photo package of Sept. 11 events coverage. For more information, visit www.upi.com (news photos) or call (800) 783-4874.
