A new look for our web resources

The look might be different for Walsworth on the Web, but the goal remained the same: accumulate enough yearbook resources in one place so that visitors never need to leave.

“We want to be the place on the web where people go to find out anything about yearbooks,” said David Massy, director, Internet Marketing.

The company’s website, located at walsworthyearbooks.com, took on an entirely new look for this school year after a complete redesign. However, the crucial public resources that Walsworth provides on the internet did not disappear.

The Yearbook Resource Center remains a fixture. Inside, users can find the latest Idea File magazine articles, as well as idea-generating magazine articles, as well as idea-generating sections Cover Gallery and Idea Showcase, which display the creative work of Walsworth and its customers. Walsworth also has its own panel of expert columnists, current and former advisers, who drop by the website periodically to offer tips and advice.

If a piece of teaching information cannot be found on the Walsworth site, chances are it can be tracked down through the Yearbook Resource Center’s extensive list of links, which can take visitors practically anywhere they need to go in the world of yearbooks.

In the News & Notes area, visitors find all the latest breaking information, such as deadline notification for upcoming contests and critiques, or dates for the national conventions.

“No other company has online learning and teaching resources as extensive as ours. We want to help people train and teach their students,” said Massy. “We want the world to see what it is like to produce a yearbook with Walsworth.”

The Members Only section of Walsworth on the Web provides personalized information for customers, including a specialized curriculum, legal advice and links to the company’s innovative online products, such as Yearbook Connect, the online service that allows customers to upload pages and download proofs, and Online Advantage, Walsworth’s new online yearbook creation system.

“The site allows us to communicate with our customers the way we like to, and that’s one-on-one,” said Massy.

As for the new website design and functionality, it was the end result of several months of planning and hard work. And it fits in perfectly with Walsworth’s entire philosophy, which is making life simpler for those trying to produce a yearbook.

“The new site offers an attractive new look and easier navigation,” said Massy. “It’s now much easier to go directly where you want to go.”
